The Volvo 1800-series became famous in the hands of Roger Moore as 'Simon Templar' in the TV-seriesThe Saint. In a great number of episodes Roger Moore drove awhite Volvo 1800. Initially a JaguarE-type should become Templar'scar, but Jaguar couldn't supply one quick enough. Volvo could supply a 1800 within one week andwhile filming had already begun, aSwedish Volvo became the starin a British TV-series

The above Volvo 1800E was build in 1970. It is an american model and was originally sold in the USA. The american models can be recognized by their sidelights and have some minor differences in electric's and mechanics. The car has been shipped to the Netherlands somewhere around may 1995 (I think). I bought it from a car trader in may 1996. Since i do not have any welding-experience (which is utterly needed for any body work replacement), i wanted an absolutely rust free car. And well, this car is! Though it's been re-sprayed (in the original california white color) the body is perfect, and free of rust. The engine also run perfectly. Since the car isn't equipped with an overdrive (which reduces rpm and consequently engine noise in top gear), and isolation materials partly have been removed, cruising at high speeds can get very noisy.
